Within this year’s European Money Quiz, around 500 students from 150 primary and secondary schools around the country participated at the national round held on Wednesday, 27 March. The Association of Serbian Banks, together with 30 other national banking associations, under the coordination of the European Banking Federation, took part in the creation of this great European initiative two years ago, and this year’s quiz was once again supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia.

On this occasion, before the onset of the quiz, Miloš Vučević, Mayor of Novi Sad, Mladen Šarčević, Minister of Education, and Vladimir Vasić, Secretary General of the Association of Serbian Banks, visited the Primary School "Nikola Tesla" in Novi Sad, together with the representatives of the banks and a team of ASB associates in charge of the EMQ implementation in Serbia, who greeted the gathered pupils and wished them luck in the quiz.

The aim of the competition is to raise the level of financial literacy in the youngest population. This is considered especially important nowadays when more and more young people are using banking and financial services, which are in turn being transferred to the field of digital communication. This year’s Money Quiz will once again take place via the online platform Kahoot!.

Students aged 13 to 15 coming from 30 different countries will answer the same questions from the field of money and finance that they have previously been practicing on the websites of their national banking associations, and those who win the first and second place in their national competition enter the second round of the competition - the European Finals.

The Finals will be held in Brussels on 7 May, and the Association of Serbian Banks will cover the traveling expenses of the winners and their chaperones who will represent Serbia in Belgium this year.
