PUPILS FROM SERBIA IN THE TOP 10 AT THE EUROPEAN MONEY QUIZ FINALS

Ognjen Pokimica, a pupil at the IX Belgrade High School "Mihajlo Petrović Alas" and Bogdan Živadinović, a pupil at the Economics and Commerce School in Zaječar, showed a high level of financial literacy at the European Money Quiz finals, which was organised by the European Banking Federation on 7 May in Brussels. They ended the competition as one of the top ten competitors from all over Europe. The two boys, as winners of the national EMQ competition, accompanied by their teachers and a representative of the Association of Serbian Banks, represented Serbia side by side with the peers from 28 European countries.

The competition took place in a positive atmosphere, with students and teachers socialising and exchanging knowledge, and, at the end of the day, the finals were won by the pupils from Slovenia. The second place went to North Macedonia and the third to Germany. The European Money Quiz was designed and organised for the first time in 2018, at the initiative of the national associations of banks gathered within the European Banking Federation, in order to promote the importance of financial education and financial literacy of young people.
