Retail Operations

Activities related to retail banking of the Association of Serbian Banks include the following segments:

  • Organisation and coordination of the work of the ASB Retail Operations Committee ;
  • Adequate monitoring, implementation and enforcement of laws and other regulations governing retail banking;
  • Participation in the work of commissions, institutions and working groups for drafting of laws, by-laws, instructions for their implementation, as well as the initiatives to amend regulations, standards, procedures and technology for banking operations;
  • Launching initiatives to introduce modern technologies and new banking products for lending, card, e-banking and other operations, in coordination with experts for the ASB;
  • Monitoring and analysing retail banking operations and providing expert assistance in resolving operational issues and problems of banks;
  • Organisation of annual conferences for the banking sector and financial institutions, leasing companies and insurance companies, covering all current topics related to retail banking in the previous year;
  • Organisation of lectures, seminars, specialist courses, round tables and meetings on important issues and business segments of retail banks, when necessary, and at the request of commercial banks;

The activities of the ASB Retail Operations Committee are primarily reflected in the adequate representation of the banking sector's interests in front of state institutions, concerning all issues that are essential for the undisturbed operations of banks in the domestic and foreign markets. The Committee, with the support of the governing body of the Association of Serbian Banks, is taking all necessary initiatives towards the Serbian state institutions, in the effort to create the most favorable market environment and regulatory framework for the successful functioning of the banking sector. This cooperation is primarily directed towards the NBS, the Ministry of Finance, the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Protection of Personal Data, the Commissioner for Protection of Equality and all other state bodies and organisations, as well as representatives and holders of public functions and authorities.

The ASB Retail Operations Committee has 9 (nine) members. The members of the Committee, in accordance with the Statute of the Association of Serbian Banks, are selected and appointed by the ASB Board of Directors, exclusively from the ranks of bank employees who are primarily engaged in retail banking operations and are recognised as experts in the field.

The ASB Retail Banking Committee comprises the representatives of the following banks:

  1. Agroindustrijsko komercijalna banka AIK banka a.d. Belgrade;
  2. Banca Intesa a.d. Belgrade;
  3. Postal Savings Bank a.d. Belgrade;
  4. Erste Bank a.d. Novi Sad;
  5. Eurobank a.d. Belgrade;
  6. Komercijalna banka a.d. Belgrade;
  7. MTS banka a.d. Belgrade;
  8. NLB banka a.d. Belgrade;
  9. Raiffeisen Bank a.d. Belgrade;
  10. Unicredit Bank Serbia a.d. Belgrade;
  11. Vojvođanska banka a.d. Novi Sad and OTP Bank a.d. Belgrade.

From their ranks, the members of the ASB Retail Operations Committee elect the President and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee, while the position of Committee Secretary is filled by the Special Advisor of the Association of Serbian Banks, who monitors the field of retail operations in the banking sector. The Special Advisor coordinates the work of the Committee, aligns the requirements, initiatives and needs of banks with the national regulatory authorities, state bodies and holders of public functions and authorities, with a view to more efficient operations and conduct of retail banking operations and a better market positioning of the banking industry.
