On Monday, the Association of Serbian Banks organised a Conference in the Atrium of the National Library of Serbia on the occasion of the opening the European Money Week 2023. With the presence of distinguished guests such as Vladimir Pištalo, the Ministry of Education, Milan Pašić, the EU Delegation in Serbia, Andrea Hochhuber, etc. and with our colleague Sladjana Sredojević as the moderator, we opened the key topics that will mark this year's European and Global Money Week:
- The role of money throughout history and in the future
- Systemic support of the governments and central banks for financial education
- Collective efforts of the banking sector for inclusion, resilience and stability
- Financial literacy regulations and strategies
At this event, we also presented a joint programme of activities of the Association of Serbian Banks and its member banks during #EMW2023 and #globalmoneyweek2023, which this year includes workshops on relevant topics for different target groups, educational content on the social media of the ASB and banks, lectures for selected target groups, as well as visits to banks, educational institutions and financial institutions.
An expert panel was organised, gathering experts such as Siniša Krneta, Belgrade Stock Exchange, Milan Brkovic, PhD, ASB Credit Bureau Vidosava Dzagic, Serbian Chamber of Commerce and it was moderated by Radojka Nikolic, economic journalist. The guests in attendance had the opportunity to hear more about common and national financial education strategies, additional support needed at sector and policy level, as well as opportunities for partnership and cooperation.
