The Bank Training Centre of the Association of Serbian Banks hosted the meeting of the members, the meeting of the Board of Directors and the Annual Assembly of the EBTN - European Association for Professional Training Standards in the Financial Services Sector on 20-21 June 2024, in Belgrade.
The ASB Banking Training Centre has been a full member of EBTN since 2008. From the very beginning, it took active participation in the work and activities of EBTN, in the creation of international standards of professional training in the financial services sector, in the development of international initiatives and European projects. Also, it contributes to the work of management bodies through the membership of the ASB BTC manager in the Board of Directors, in the Executive Committee, as vice president of the association and chairman of the Committee for Financial Literacy (FINLICO).
At the international meeting of EBTN members, which was attended by respected colleagues from around the world - from France, Italy, Greece, Germany, Armenia, Canada to India - an overview of EU policies in the field of adult education and professional development was presented and a review was made of cases of good global practices and trends in the workforce in the banking sector.
Also, during the meeting, a new project for the creation of European standards in microcredentials (MiCreS) was presented, with pilot training for Microcredentials and ESG. Following the presentation, the results of research conducted within the EBTN network were presented, which highlight the importance of professional development as a supplement to formal education, as well as the necessity of adaptation and transferability of acquired knowledge.
Among the prominent international speakers, we were particularly grateful for the presence of representatives of the European Union - the European Training Foundation (ETF), with the aim of strengthening the role and importance of EBTN among decision makers on EU accession and policies in this area.
