This year, as usual, the traditional two-day Trade & Finance conference was organised by the Association of Serbian Banks. With eminent experts from the country and the world in attendance, we had the opportunity to discuss key trends in international trade and financing, the SWIFT digital channel MT798 for companies, examples of the use of SWIFT GPI in documentary business, and changes to the SWIFT standards in 2019-2020. We also covered topics such as the possible use of blockchain technology in documentary business, amendments to the Customs Law and its by-laws, the benefits of arbitration, interesting case law, and we briefly touched upon compliance, AML and sanctions. Like every year, the event went by in a positive atmosphere, with a lot of good spirit, mutual respect and an excellent exchange of experiences, but with no lack of opposing opinions and differing arguments.
