Not even the current worldwide crisis could prevent this year’s third annual European Money Quiz from gathering students aged 13-15 from 28 countries across Europe. Instead of playing together in Brussels, this year they fun on an adapted online platform, where they showed enviable knowledge of financial concepts and terminology.
Following the first round of the quiz in which 22 individual national competitions were held in local languages, the yesterday’s 2020 European Money Quiz Finals was organised via livestream, and the quiz itself was hosted on the Kahoot! platform already familiar to the students. In the finals of the EMQ, Serbia was represented by the winners of the national round: Ana Mandić, from the “Duško Radović” Elementary School in Belgrade and Simeon Čonjagić, from the School of Economics “Stana Milanović” in Šabac. They were supported and cheered on by their teachers, as well as the representatives of the Association of Serbian Banks, who presented congratulatory certificates to the students, their mentors, and schools.
The European Money Quiz, which was conceptualised and launched in 2018 by the European Banking Federation form Brussels, together with its members, the banking associations from across Europe, aims at promoting financial education and financial literacy of young people, as this topic is becoming recognised by more and more institutions in the recent years.
